Volunteering

Get involved with volunteering in the community. There are many benefits to volunteering, and there has never been a better time to become a volunteer. You can give as much time as you like; either on a regular or occasional basis. We can offer you:

· Formal and informal learning opportunities
· Volunteer expenses
· Chance to meet new people
Volunteering is also a good way to boost your confidence, help the local community, and to gain new knowledge and experiences.
Here is a list of current volunteer vacancies:
Art & Wellbeing Class at Foxhill Forum – helper required to set up the class, help the students and clear away at the end of each lesson – Thursdays from 1.30pm
COPD Yoga at Foxhill Forum – helper required to help set up the sessions, laying mats etc. down, making tea and coffee, assist the teacher and clear away at the end of each session – must be confident with first aid – Mondays from 1.00pm to 3.00pm
Community Reporter for Route 42 at Foxhill Forum – a community reporter is needed to report on events and activities within the community, and to interview volunteers and local residents. The community reporter will also be involved in the production of Route 42.
Community HealthWorks - Driver required to help assist Project Worker visiting clients in their own home – transport costs covered – few hours per week – must have car and clean driving licence.
Foxhill & Birley Car Living at Home Scheme - Minibus Helper for local scheme – to assist driver with picking up and dropping off service users to the Lunch Club.
LEAF Allotments - Volunteer helpers required for local allotment – will be able to learn about planting, sowing, etc. and be able to sample locally grown fruit and vegetables. Steel toe capped boots required but not essential (Volunteer Programme can help with the cost). Wednesdays 1.00pm to 6.00pm, Thursdays 10.00am to 1.00pm and most Saturdays 10.00am to 6.00pm.
TARA Garden - Volunteer helpers required for local TARA garden – help to clear and maintain the garden, learn about flowers and planting, preparation etc. Study boots or shoes required. Hours to be arranged around volunteer.
Activity Sheffield - Volunteers wanted for local football team/coaching for children aged 8 to 16 years. Training will be given.
Social Services – volunteer helpers required to help disabled individuals either in a class room basis or on a one to one basis. Training will be given. Travel costs and lunch available. Various role available.
